The French Horn

The French Horn is a Brass instrument that produces sound when vibration from the player's lips cause the air column inside the instrument to vibrate. There are two different types of French Horns: Single & Double. The Single french horn is typically in the key of F and changes pitch when any combination of the three valves is pressed down. The Double french horn changes pitch the same way, except the double french horn has a forth valve that allows the horn to go to higher range. Also keep in mind that pitch is also produced by the amount of air pressure being put into the instrument.
