Nashville

Zander Wyatt

Zander Wyatt had the opportunity to teach musical instruments in Nashville since 2002. He received a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music with a Composition and Arranging Emphasis from Belmont University.  He has been exposed to music his entire life becoming the 3rd generation of Nashville musicians.  Zander has had the opportunity to preform and record many great artists throughout his career including Ocean Street, Aberdeen Green, John Michael Montgomery, Lady Antebellum, The Gypsy Hombres and many others. He currently tours with Larry Fleet as lead guitarist and utility.   His principal instrument is guitar specializing in Jazz, Classical, Rock and Bluegrass.  As a multi-instrumentalist, he also teaches slide guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro and ukulele.

Elaine Winters

Elaine Winters is a professional music educator and performer. She has over 14 years of teaching experience and over 30 years of performing experience with both violin and fiddle. She studied music at Indiana University, holds a degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and has studied with well-known teachers including Paul Biss (retired from New England Conservatory). Elaine is certified to teach both Suzuki and O’Conner violin methods. Ms. Winters has been a member of the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra and has played with ensembles of various genres including the Bee Gees rock band and the Ray Charles Orchestra. She currently directs a jazz trio with well-known Nashville jazz guitarist Mel Deal. She also directs an Americana band and appears regularly with Nashville singer/songwriter Everette Brown.

Aiyana Cadwell

Aiyana Cadwell teaches piano, vocals, music theory and songwriting. She earned her bachelor’s in music from UCF in 2004 and has been teaching professionally since 2000. She has over 23 years of teaching experience. She’s an accomplished pianist and singer-songwriter and you can hear her original music on Spotify and iTunes. She’s worked with piano students of all ages and levels and enjoys teaching classical as well as contemporary styles of music. Aiyana also offers and enjoys working on being creative and composing one’s own songs and music. She enjoys helping people find their singing voice as well and finds it especially rewarding to help them learn to sing and play at the same time.  Aiyana feels strongly about making music learning fun and enriching and finding intrinsic motivation through one’s own musical growth.

Lisa Harkness Music Teacher in Nashville

Lisa Harkness

Lisa has been playing the piano since the age of three and holds a Bachelor of Music from Butler University, a Master of Arts from the University of Michigan and has taught college courses in group piano, music composition and music history at the University of Michigan and Middle Tennessee State University.

Her Career as a piano teacher, spans over 18 years between Nashville, Tenn., Indianapolis, Ind. and Ann Arbor, Mich. She recently returned to the Williamson County area and currently has openings for students of all ages and experience.

In addition to teaching and studying piano and piano performance extensively, she has a wide range of expertise in music production, composition, songwriting, vocal performance, and recording. She also has performed and produced styles including indie rock, folk, hip-hop, pop, jazz, cabaret, musical theater, EDM, short films and commercial musical scores – and is currently part of the group Raga Sutra as a producer-vocalist-keyboardist.

David Fisher

David Fisher

Since beginning David’s teaching career in 1978 he has taught 25-35 people per week how to play guitar. Some aspire only to play at home for fun and others to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.  David Fisher has also taught advanced guitar and music theory to several professional musicians who already play other instruments fluently including Oscar nominee Scott Rogness, who co-wrote and performed the songs featured in the movie That Thing You Do. The students will learn technique and how to develop it using scales, modes, arpeggios and how to play them.  As the student progresses through more material, they learn more and more content and develop a vocabulary of chords. They learn to read notation by reading melodies and solos in the songs they’re learning.

Jason Powers

Jason Powers

At the age of 15, Jason picked up the guitar after experiencing an Eddie Van Halen solo. That served as the initial spark that continues to inspire him in his pursuit for the instrument. At the age of 21, Jason enrolled at the Atlanta Institute of Music with a concentration in theory and performance. For many years, he played and taught guitar after school. Throughout his career, he worked primarily in studios, where he had the honor of collaborating with multiple Grammy Award winners as well as prominent figures in the R&B, Jazz, Rap, and Christian music scenes in Atlanta. Jason followed his passion for production, mixing, and engineering after spending years working in studios. He was fortunate enough to work as an engineer in several Atlanta flagship studios during this time. Jason's current focus is to keep working to be the best musician he can be and to devote his time to helping others reach their musical goals.

Memphis

Elliot Maneclang

Elliot Maneclang has taught and performed in the Memphis scene since 2018. Since earning his B.A. in Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of Memphis in 2021, Elliot offers lessons in a variety of styles including rock, blues, jazz, country, folk, and pop, catering to diverse musical tastes. His teaching philosophy centers on learning through songs, which he uses to introduce concepts of music theory and technique. Elliot is adept at working with students of all levels – from beginners to advanced players. Join Elliot at our Germantown location for guitar lessons that are focused, effective, and tailored to your musical journey.

Zoe Shalome-Inez Johnson

Zoe Johnson was born and raised in Memphis to a musically gifted family. Johnson is a professional musician and teacher and has been studying the violin for 12 years. Johnson is a recent graduate from Austin Peay State University with a Major in Music. With an immense passion for the youth, Johnson worked closely alongside her brother, the youth pastor at her church and head of the youth department. Johnson has worked as a summer camp counselor with different companies, such as the YMCA. During his time as a college student in Clarksville, she has worked with the Clarksville Youth Orchestra. She has also worked with local music programs such as Prizm and Summer at the Scheidt with the University of Memphis. Johnson has taught violin and viola to students whose ages range from kindergarten to mature adulthood. By the end of summer 2023, she would have an official certification in teaching Violin and Viola Suzuki Training Basic Units 1-2. Her favorite activities as a musician are to street-perform, arrange, improvise, and sing. When Johnson is not playing music, she likes to take long walks and trail.

Michael Love

Michael Love teaches all styles of guitar playing at our Germantown location. He is a retired Chemistry and Physics teacher with a master’s degree. He has taught music in many of the surrounding churches including Central church and Germantown Baptist church. He was also a songwriter for Al Jolson Black & White Music, BMI in Nashville.

Allen Rippe

Allen Rippe, retired University of Memphis saxophone professor, teaches all ages at our Germantown location.

Will Lang

Will Lang is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and educator in Memphis. He has been teaching guitar, bass, and piano for over a decade, both privately and at the collegiate level. He studied guitar at the University of Memphis, where he earned a Master of Music in Jazz and Studio Performance. In 2021, he released space/time, a collection of his own compositions. In addition to leading his own bands, Will enjoys working as a sideman and accompanist. He teaches at our Germantown location.

Linda Warren

Linda Warren teaches piano at our Germantown location. She is a highly educated pianist and music educator with degrees from Rhodes College and the U of Memphis with years of experience teaching middle and elementary school. She values being patient with her students and enjoys helping them progress.

David Lay

David Lay teaches guitar at Lane Music Germantown and Circle Music Center locations.

Ginger Hendrick

Ginger Hendrick studied piano at University of Memphis under Dr. Caroline Fruchtman and completed her student teaching in music. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science (music education /piano) with hours for a minor in music theory. An enthusiastic teacher, Ms. Hendrick taught kindergarten through 12th grade music classes. She maintains a full schedule of students, in addition to performing with churches and orchestras. Ginger enjoys teaching piano lessons for all ages at our Germantown location. Her availability is Monday-Friday.

Dr. Sabrina Laney Warren

Dr. Sabrina Laney Warren is an accomplished teacher and performer with nearly 20 years of

experience. She teaches all styles of music and most ages. Dr. Warren’s students are dynamic performers and have won prizes at NATS, the Beethoven Club Young Artist Competition, and the Orpheus Vocal competition to name a few. Her students have post graduate success studying Opera at Loyola University and the University of Houston, and studying Musical Theater at The Institute of American Musical Theater in New York. 


Dr. Warren has served on the faculty at Belmont University, Union University, and Bethel. She currently serves as President of the Memphis Chapter of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing). Originally from Nashville, TN, Dr. Warren received her B.A. in Music from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. She returned to Nashville where she studied at Belmont University earning an M.M. in Vocal Performance and an M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy with supplemental training at the Bill Wilkerson Voice Center at Vanderbilt University. Her DMA is from the University of Memphis in Voice Performance with specialized studies in Musicology. Dr. Warren’s publication “Dramatic Stories in an Intimate Setting” volumes 1-3, featuring the art songs of composer Rachel DeVore Fogarty is available for purchase on Amazon.com and her album “Space to be Lonely” is available on Spotify and all streaming platforms. Dr. Warren has additional performance training from the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria and the International Vocal Arts Institute in Montreal, Quebec.


On the performance stage Dr. Warren has been praised as a “powerful and finely nuanced soprano” (Rhein-Neckar Zeitung) with “seemingly unlimited vocal possibilities,” (Augsburger Allgemeine). With international acclaim, Dr. Warren has performed opera, concert, and oratorio works throughout North America and Europe. Internationally, she has performed as a guest artist with the Festival Durance Luberon in France, the Eutiner Festspiele in Germany, the Deutsche-Amerikan Musik Fest in Germany, and the Differdange International Festival in Luxembourg. On the operatic stage Dr. Warren has been praised as a “standout” (The Tennessean) and applauded for “her ample and open voice with affecting directness” (Pittsburgh Tribune Review). Additional awards and recognition include, District Winner and Eastern Region Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in New York. In addition to her classical performing, Dr. Warren is an award willing Jazz and Musical Theater performer.
