Jennifer Lee


Jennifer Lee Kang piano instructor at Lane Music, began her piano study at age of four under her mom and promptly decided to take music seriously to pursue as her career. She has performed in United States and Europe, including Baroque Recital Hall at Jan Deyl Conservatory in Prague, Czech Republic.

Ms. Lee has won numerous awards and competitions over the course of her life time, including MTNA Competition, Livonia Piano Competition, Majorie Art Song Competition, Music Talent Award, Keyboard Achievement Award, Elizabeth Cobb Piano Scholarship, and CMA Concerto Competition at Bowling Green, Ohio.

Ms. Lee has earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance under Laura Melton and Virginia Marks, with an emphasis in literature, pedagogy, and accompanying at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at University of Memphis.

In addition, she spent many summers studying at many international festivals, including Prague International Piano Masterclasses in Czech Republic, Aria International Summer Festival in Canada, International Institute for Young Musicians at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and Interlochen Summer Arts Camp in Michigan. She has participated in masterclasses and lessons with Olga Kern, Logan Skelton, Betty Kowalsky Stasson, Robert Roux, Angela Cheng, Eugene Pridonoff, Victoria Mushkatol, Jack Winerock, Vit Gregor, and Maria Stiepanovna Gambarian.

Ms. Lee is a member of Music Teacher National Association and registered Suzuki instructor. She believes that music is an essential part of a student’s overall education. A musically educated student should leave her lessons able to be independent, knowledgeable individuals. For that reason, her primary goal is to teach students how to learn. Her teaching will match student’s learning style, not learning matched to her teaching style.
