The String Bass

The String Bass is the biggest and lowest-pitched bowed string instrument in today's symphony orchestra. The String Bass has four strings tuned in perfect fifths. Sound is produced from the bass by the player drawing a bow across the strings, or by plucking the strings. The player then positions their finger on the finger board and can change the pitch of the violin by moving up or down the finger board. The bass is available in all different sizes for young kids to adult, sizes range from 1/4 to 4/4.
