Oliver Shapiro began his music studies at the age of 8. His music education centered largely on lessons and training with Mary Gili, Channing Robbins, Michael Haber, and Karen Pinoci on cello, and Borislav Bazala, Bruce Potterton, and William Dawson on piano. Oliver Shapiro has been giving private music lessons for over 20 years, since he was a junior in high school. He has performed extensively as soloist, in chamber music presentations, and with numerous orchestras. Oliver believes in educating each student as a musician, not only as a cellist, violinist, violist, or pianist; and including elements of theory and history as part of the student's musical journey.
